Chickens, Rules, and Trouble

About a month ago Daddy surprised me with a box of adorable little chickens. They were all fluff and peeps. I was instantly in love with them. We set up their own little yard with a cute little coop. Every day I spend time cleaning their dishes and watching them scratch the ground looking for little bugs and snacks. They are just wonderful.

Today we had a storm come in and my little babies were running around in their yard. Daddy told me He would take care of them for me and for me to stay in the house dry and safe. It wasn't that hard of a thing to do. Just stay put. But nope....Not me. I had to do the exact opposite of what He said. I went out and put the girls in the coop while He was getting their food. He didn't really say anything but I got that "look".

I really need to start listening. How hard is it to just do what He says? I don't have that many rules. He doesn't ask me to do crazy things. He just wanted me to stay inside out of the storm but I just had to go out.

I am sure I will hear more about this when the kids are in bed.

  1. Oh my goodness I have wanted chickens forever, you'll have to let me know how it is taking care of them and getting the eggs safely.

On more important matters, there are so many easy little things we could just do as we are told and yet, there are times when we keep moving in our own direction. Why do we do that?! I read something recently on the benefit of having the rules/contract/agreement being written to help keep the intent and what is expected out there and clear. I can't imagine my Man wanting a written agreement but it makes total sense to me. I like things written and clear.

Good to see you posting, even if it is to report a bit of a mess up =)

    1. We try to write everything down when rules change. It helps me remember the change and give me something to look back on later. But we do not have a detailed "contract" like I have seen. I can see the benefits but He really only has one rule for me. -----Do what I am told, when I am told, to the best of my ability.----- Its pretty simple but I mess it up all the time. lol

And I love my chickens. They are actually very friendly and like to interact with our boys. I will try to post an update on them soon.

  4. I agree with His sluts comment your backside should of reminded you to listen. It should start coming back pretty easy the listening you did it for a long time before he went on deployment. I fear for your booty. Good thing the chickens were ok I'm going to assume not so much for the backside. :(
